| 内容記述 | 「3 びきのくま」（"The Three Bears"）は英語圏で19 世紀から20 世紀にかけて現在の形に変化した昔話である。日本における明治・大正期の児童向けの受容については、『梅花児童文学』31 号で発表した1。本論文では、昭和前期（戦前・戦中期 1926-1945 年）の受容について考察する。この時期の「3 びきのくま」は、前の時期に見られた英語学習用教材、雑誌、単行本に加えて、新たに絵本と紙芝居での受容が見られたが、出版された作品数は多くなかった。各作品の底本について調査したうえで分析し、明治・大正期と比較したところ、3 回くり返しが省略される場合が増え、出版統制が進むに連れて、結末に徳育的内容が付加される例が見られた。高橋五山は、「3 びきのくま」を幼年雑誌、絵本、紙芝居と3 度も出版しており、熊たちのユートピアに迷いこんだ幼い少女が熊に見守られるという独特の物語世界を展開した。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | “The Three Bears” is an old tale that evolved to its present form in the 19th and 20th centuries in the English-speaking world. “The Reception of the Folktale ‘The Three Bears’ in the Meiji and Taisho Periods” was published in The Baika Journal of Children's Literature (No. 31, 2024). This paper examines its reception in the early Showa period (prewar and wartime years, 1926-1945).During this period, in addition to the English-learning materials, magazines, and books from the previous period, “The Three Bears” was newly received in picture books and kamishibai; however,only a few works were published. Surveying and analyzing each original text as well as performing comparisons with the receptions in the Meiji and Taisho periods, we discovered an increase in instances where three repetitions were abbreviated, whereas morally instructive elements were added to the ending as publication regulations became stricter.Gozan Takahashi published “The Three Bears” thrice, i.e., in a children’s magazine, a picture book,and kamishibai, as well as developed a unique narrative world in which a young girl wandered into a utopia of bears that watched over her. | |||||||
