[Method] An anonymous, self-administered questionnaire survey was conducted in all hospitals imposing an admission fee 1 in the Kansai area rehabilitation wards, where full-time dietitians work. [Results] Nurses and other healthcare professionals reported that nurses’ role in nutritional assessment included the assessment of patient and family risk management (other professionals, p=0.022; nurses, p<0.001), implementing oral care to improve oral function and immunity (p<0.001), setting up utensils for meals (p<0.001); and instructing the patient/family on necessary actions should suffocation or choking occur (p<0.001).
