Welch's t tests indicated that scores of older adults were significantly lower than scores of university students on three subscales of NVS with middle to high Cohen's ds: inhibition of self-exhibition, insufficient self-soothing, and hypersensitivity to approval/ admiration. We proposed a tendency for decreased narcissistic vulnerability during and after adulthood on the basis of findings from the treatment of narcissistic personality disorder.
